Val Howseman is remembered in annual competition at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club

A competition with a slight difference was played at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club.

It was played in a half and half format with an outward score over nine holes of stableford points being followed by a nine hole medal.

This unique formula is a forgiving warm-up and then the need to count every shot over the nine closing holes.

The stableford points are deducted from the nett score for the final outcome and the lowest score wins.

Amanda Roberts was delighted to receive the trophy again after a 10 year lull when she had been the first winner.

The competition saw the Tuesday ladies come together to enjoy a day's golf to commemorate the memory of their dear friend Val Howseman.

Final scores: 1 Amanda Roberts 35-20=15, 2 Karren Dearlove 32-15=17, 3 Haley Harding 31-12=19, 4 Pat Hawcroft 32-12=20, 5 Shirley Gardiner 37-16=21, 6 Mary Gray-Smith 39-17=22, 7 Margaret Harvey 39-14=25.
