Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up
There was another truly excellent winning score from Sudbrook Moor's Andy Dunderdale on a competition day with various pressures for all.
It was a return to full-stretch white tees and a medal format for a challenge in an early season mixed trophy day for the Slee Putter.
Daunting for some but not for an inspired Andy who added another title to his ever-increasing history of successes.
His success was harsh on runner-up Karren Dearlove who returned a personal best only to miss out on the trophy by one shot.
Both Andy and Karren played below their indexes with reductions pending.
Karren's performance was a result of finding more time for regular golf and she should be congratulated on this year's steady attainments.
Martin Corby took the prize for the lowest gross score, playing from his handicap index of one.
Best results from the Gents' Division One were Andy Newman, Liam Cornes, Dean Marsden, Pedro Morais and Malcolm Edwards.
Top results returned from indexes 20.5-54 were Tony Bell, Steve Furphy - who held the 2024 Slee Putter title - and Steve Squires.
Runner-up to lady winner Karren Dearlove was Dee Harrison who enjoyed her best scorecard for a while.
The two's pot was shared by Martin Corby (third and 12th), Nigel Corby (sixth), Malcolm Edwards (seventh), Keith Maclachlan (13th), Andy Dunderdale and William Chan (16th).
Sudbrook Moor scratch golfer Levi Desmond has been on the road to further success when he competed in a 36-hole open at Yorkshire's Hessle Golf Club.
Rounds of 74 followed by an afternoon stormer of 64 helped Desmond to the Raywell Amateur Classic title and more silverware.
Another first rate performance came from runner-up Craig Toyne, who is also a scratch member at Sudbrook Moor.
Toyne led the morning scores before succumbing to Desmond's afternoon brilliance to finish two shots back.
