ATHLETICS: Grantham AC pair ‘rip’ it up at Rauceby

Two Grantham Athletic Club members competed in the Rauceby Ripper on Saturday.

The Ripper was a nine-mile multi-terrain event, over trail, field edges and some road sections. It started within the grounds of Rauceby Hall, South Rauceby, and finished back at the village hall.

Seamus Sheard finished 26th in 1hr 4min 51sec, whilst John Bainbridge’s time of 1:17:41 gave him a finishing position of 93rd.

• Paul Davidson’s performance at the Lincoln Parkrun on Saturday put him at the top of the table for age category records.

On his first outing at the venue, he ran 19:47 for the 5km distance, which also lowered his personal best.

Results: Lincoln – 5 Dean Houlton 18:17, 20 Paul Davidson 19:47; Newark – 16 Keith Measures 23:44.
