Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up

For the third consecutive year, four-handicapper Ian Batty has made an emphatic mark on the senior archive of results at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club.

Returning the best gross scorecard, Ian retained the Senior Strokeplay Championship.

This prestigious achievement earned Ian the Stanborn Shield.

Past winner Nigel Corby was so close to interrupting Ian's run of success, carding the same gross score, but a count-back on the closing nine holes saw Ian finish two shots clear, clinched with birdies on holes 10, 13 and 17.

The two's pot was eeked out at the end of this championship medal and Ian Batty, Mike Carelton (wo), Pete Armstrong, Nigel Corby, Barry Smith, Trevor Whatton, Andy Dunderdale, Paul Johnson, Steve Squires and Geoff Wilkins all received a small share.

Order of Merit points were calculated from the day's results and added to the Senior Golfer of the Year table for monthly medals, using the nett scores.

Andy Dunderdale leads the ranking with 20, followed by Steve Squires 17, Joe Green 15, Neil Stokes 14, Harry Cutmore 13, Nigel Corby and Mark Murphy, both with 11, and Gordon Hurn and Richard Cocks on 10.
