Grantham Running Club round-up

Two members of Grantham Running Club headed south to the Sandringham Royal Estate to take part in the Run Sandringham 10K on Sunday.

Brian Hawkins and Anna Harding joined around 1,500 runners who took part across the 5K and 10K events, enjoying the scenic roads and trails around the estate, along with a summer festival atmosphere.

The course was challenging with mixed terrain including grass, longer grass, gravel, woods and paths, etc.

It certainly kept the runners focused from start to finish and the stunning Norfolk countryside views didn't disappoint.

Both GRC members had good runs, with Brian crossing the line 40:54, giving him fourth in his age category and 33rd place overall.

Anna was 10th in her age category in 53:58.

Six veterans from Grantham Running Club took part in the opening round of the Peterborough 5k series at Eye.

First back was Peter Bonner, follow by James McMullen, Rob Howbrook, Peter Jennings, Caroline Davis and Sarah High.
