Christmas starts early for golfers at Sudbrook Moor

Christmas always arrives early at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club.

The ever popular mixed festive team stableford was staged at the weekend and played from friendly tees to ensure a fun format.

The whole club were invited to participate and an age range that spanned the membership was part of the teams drawn in handicap divisions.

A beautiful, benign and fine morning blessed the early shotgun-start event.

This kick-start to the festive season always goes down well, enhanced by bringing out the Christmas jumpers and tinsel.

It was a highly charged performance for the winning foursome and the best team was ably captained and enthused by Dave Sharples, with drawn members Michael Coupland, Peter Berry and Nathan Froggatt, with a scorecard of 93 points.

The impressive prize table held festive treats for everyone and much conviviality was shared over a festive lunch in a packed clubhouse of competitors and family members.

The presentation ceremony was managed by the competition committee of Steve Davis and Barry Pogson.

A charitable suggestion saw the entire two's sweep donated to the Royal British Legion.
