Athletes from Belvoir Tri Club take part in the Ironman Copenhagen
Eight members of Belvoir Tri Club took on the Ironman Copenhagen.
It was a seemingly more popular race than others, perhaps for its rolling bike course and great crowd location for family and friends to cheer on all athletes around the flat four looped run course which saws some of the famous attractions such as Amalienborg Castle and Nyhavn.
The one-loop 3.8 km (2.4 mile) swim at Amager Strandpark was one of the most spectator friendly courses in all of Ironman as all athletes could be tracked as they swam across the lagoon, under the bridge to the shore.
The two-loop 180 km (112 mile) bike course took athletes from Copenhagen through North Zealand with a mix of the city centre, coastline and other sections with surrounding forests and countryside.
The first male finisher for the club was Dean Scoffins in 10:37:18 which beat his previous Ironman time by 01:24:44 for an absolutely incredible performance.
Next home was first time Ironman Paul Scott in 11:01:26, followed shortly after by Wendi Carrington in 11:59:58.
Paul Smith hit the 12:00:20 mark, then Manish Hiran in 12:14:10, Simon Quanborough in 12:44:37, Ed Snowden in 13:02:00 and Claudette Joint in 13:26:22.
These were such fantastic times for everyone which shows the dedication, hard work and commitment all athletes have put in over the last year for this event.
