Belton Woods Golf Club round-up
Belton Woods' annual St Patrick’s Day Mixed Competition, comprising two men and a lady, took place on the Lakes course.
It was a fantastic fun-filled day with hidden leprechauns around the course for extra prizes and best fancy dress.
All proceeds from the day went towards raising money for both captains' charity 'Together for Short Lives' for children's palliative care.
Results: 1 Rob & Gaynor Palframan and Tom Dixon 118pts, 2 Andrew & Pam Watson and Lee Williams 108, 3 Tony & Caroline Hills and Robin Harris 104, 4 Darren Woods, Paul & Liz Moules 102.
Ladies nearest the pin: Yvonne Walker (second), Lesley Perrin (11th); men - Lee Williams (fifth), Nathan Smith (17th). Winner of the fancy dress was men's captain Grant Beck.
The Good Friday mixed competition took place on the Woods course.
Sixteen pairs took part and it proved to be another successful day despite the tough conditions on the course after the heavy rain but some great scores were still achieved.
Results: 1 Rob/Gaynor Palframan 42pts, 2 Kim Davies/Robin Harris 41, 3 Andrew/Pam Watson 40, 4 Darren Woods/Debbie Hawley 40. Nearest pins - Jan Machin and Darren Woods.
The Tony Rose Bowl Mixed Trophy competition took place on the Lakes course with fourteen pairs taking part.
At last the sun shone and the weather stayed fine, although the course was still tough after all the rain, but some good scores recorded.
Winners were Kim Davies and men’s captain Grant Beck with a super score of 42 points.
Runners-up were Steph Lee and Brian Robinson with 39. The trophy was presented to Kim and Grant by lady captain Jan Machin.
