Geoff Back wins the Ron Boxell Trophy at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club

Sudbrook Moor's Geoff Back is no stranger to success in the club’s singles knock-out series.

Geoff’s most recent achievement has put him top of the tree as the Senior Matchplay Champion, winning the Ron Boxell Trophy, for the second time in three consecutive summers.

Another stellar performance by Geoff, previously 2021 champion, and now adding the 2023 title.

In between his two championship titles, in 2022 Geoff lost his first round encounter but went on in the consolation rounds to become winning finalist in the Plate.

This summer, Geoff made an impressive journey through four rounds, in which he encountered John Newton, Sue Watson, Paul McCarthy, Andy Dunderdale and finally Andy Milner.

Losing 2023 finalist, Andy Milner, gave credit to Geoff’s play off the tee, always steady and accurate, never squandering shots, always applying his calm and cool temperament.
