Grantham Town earned a single point from their single festive fixture at Stamford on Boxing Day.

The Gingerbreads held the Daniels to a draw and were disappointed to have Sunday’s home game against Ilkeston postponed due to a frozen pitch.

After a couple of early close calls, Grantham conceded in the 25th minute when Lewis Carr’s cross-cum-shot curled in at the back post.

Both sides continued to have half-chances after the break and Town eventually levelled when Danny Meadows’ delivery went in off Daniel Cockerline.

Either team could have snatched the win late on, but Tom Batchelor lofted over from close range for Grantham and, at the other end, Gingerbreads goalkeeper Dan Haystead was equal to Josh Moreman’s effort.
