Harrowby United host Newark Town in the United Counties League

Harrowby will lock horns with one of their old foes when they return to United Counties League action on Saturday.

The Arrows were without a scheduled fixure last weekend in the United Counties League Premier Division North.

They now host fourth-placed Newark Town on Saturday having gained promotion with the Blues last term.

The Arrows defeated Newark in the Division One play-off final but the Blues were also promoted following the withdrawal from the league of Cogenhoe.

Both sides have acquitted themselves well at the higher level with Harrowby recently seeing a seven-match unbeaten league run ended.

They were beaten by Boston Town in their last outing and both sides will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday.

Newark bowed out of the FA Vase last weekend after an epic penalty shoot-out defeat and assistant boss Neil Miller wants his side to build on their cup exploits.

He said: "We've come such a long way in a short period of time.

"If we think about it, when this season launched, we were supposed to be a step six team and then we got moved up after Cogenhoe pulled out.

"We’ve gone into step five and over those five months we've become used to winning and been good good value for winning.

"So we've come away really disappointed on Saturday but it’s up to us now to remind the players how far we've come and how proud we are of them and how proud the town of Newark are.

"None of them have let anyone down. They've all been accountable throughout the season, they've all kept their levels super-high.

"The concentration goes on the league now and these boys are fully focused because what they’ve achieved so far is absolutely phenomenal.

"We've got a really big Christmas period coming up and that's got to be our focus.

"We can't allow ourselves to feel a little bit sorry for ourselves because, if we do that, the next four or five league games could become really tricky."

Arrows striker Elliot King will be lining up against his former club while ex-Harrowby players Luke Andersen and Alex Hales are in the Newark squad.
