Harrowby United are beaten by Boston Town in the United Counties League
Harrowby were second best for most of their midweek match with Boston Town as they went down to a 5-1 home reversal on Tuesday night.
The Arrows had been looking for a positive response in the United Counties League clash after their defeat at Lincoln United on Saturday.
But they came up against a good and energetic Boston team with Harry Limb and Fraser Bayliss their chief tormentors after each netting twice.
Harrowby had a number of key players missing in goalkeeper Alex Smith, striker Harry Allcock, Richard Kankam and Lewis Marsh as well as the injured duo of Jon Smith and Kyle Watkins.
They handed a first start to new signing Kegan Everington while Jonny Gilbert and Issa Gaye came into the starting line-up along with goalkeeper Jake Frestle.
The game started with Boston on the front foot and they took an early lead when Harrowby lost possession in midfield and the ball was played to Limb who finished well.
It got worse for Harrowby when another ball wasn't cleared and it fell to Bayliss to double Boston's lead.
Harrowby did have their moments and Elliot King should have scored from a free header in the penalty box.
Frestle then made two good saves to keep his side in the game before Harrowby thought they had halved the deficit just before the break when Lord Marfo turned home from a corner only to be flagged offside.
Harrowby came out well for the second half and Marfo was denied by Boston goalkeeper Travis Portas before he linked well with Charlie Hart to set up Tom Harris to score their opening goal.
Boston always looked dangerous with their pacy forwards and, with Harrowby looking for an equaliser, Lucas Dakin slotted in their third goal to take the game away from the hosts.
It then got worse for the Arrows as Harris was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident before Limb and Bayliss added late goals for the Poachers.
It ended a disappointing night for the Arrows after what has been a great run of results.
There have no game at the weekend with their next match at home to Newark Town on Saturday. December 14.
