Celebrations conclude Kesteven's season
Kesteven brought the season to a conclusion with end of season celebrations.
The annual President's Day was conducted on a beautiful spring day. It started with presentations to Mini and Junior players, reflecting a very successful season. A numbers of players have continued to grow and move on with their rugby careers.
The climax of the season was the club dinner held at the club. This marked the end of Mike Money's presidency as he has chosen to stand down after 20 years in office and the club paid tribute to his achievements in that time.
Special Guest was Leicester Tigers player Logovi’i Mulipola who mixed with all the members.
Awards for the season were presented to Kerri Arlando who was Club Member of the Year. On the playing side, Toby Tapson received the Mike Harland Memorial Trophy, presented to the Colt of the Year who shows the best attitude to the game.
Captain Gavin Purvis then presented awards to Jack Palin, Young Player of the Year, Harry Cox was Most Improved Player, and James Cowley as a very popular Player of the Year.
The new vibrant ladies' section was recognised as Sarah Jane Goss and Jade Sheardown paid tribute to the enthusiastic coaching team of Angus Shaw, Rob Sheardown and Dan Turner, not forgetting the impetus from James Bennett who was the inspiration behind the venture.
Mike Money presented a special tie to Angus Shaw for many years of commitment to coaching Mini and Youth Rugby.
The evening concluded with a presentation to Mike Money by Bill Berridge, in recognition of his 20 years as president.
