Amy and Isla Kolbert in top form for Witham Wheelers




Witham Wheelers held their annual round of the Lincolnshire League near Stroxton.

In fairly dry conditions, an interesting course was laid out over a couple of days which riders gave good feedback on after the event.

Older sister Amy was a clear winner in the senior female race with Julie Clark - riding her first cross-country event of the winter - third overall and leading veteran.

In the veterans race for riders over 40, Simon Cocker was 27th overall (fifth veteran 60). The club thanks farmer Dave Madge for allowing use of his fields for the event.

The next round was held on an interesting course on parkland at South Elkington near Louth, promoted by the Louth Cycle Centre.

Clark found the course to her liking and was a clear winner of the women's race.

Cocker rode well for 25th overall (fourth veteran 60) in the veterans race which was won by Corby Glen rider Dave Earth (Rose Race Team).

On the same day, there was a round of the Leicestershire League at Market Harborough with Isla Kolbert 12th overall and first under 16 in the youth event.

Amy Kolbert was fourth overall in the senior ladies race while Matthew Kingston-Lee came 47th overall (19th veteran 40) in the senior men's race.
