Harrowby United draw with Lincoln United in the United Counties League
A late leveller denied Harrowby United victory against title-chasing Lincoln United on Tuesday night.
An early goal from Kegan Everington had given the Arrows the lead in the United Counties League Premier Division North match.
However, Elliot Dye struck a last-gasp equaliser to deny Harrowby the victory in a match which was played at Sleaford Town.
Harrowby went into the game confident of putting on a good show in front of a decent crowd after Saturday's four-goal away win at Gresley Rovers.
They got off to a dream start and took the lead when Jack Gurney swung over one of his trademark corners and Everington was there to head home at the far post.
This shocked Lincoln who then applied pressure on the Arrows' back line but Lewis Marsh, Harrison Dee and skipper Kemal Yeniberitz were fantastic all night.
As much of the ball Lincoln had, they didn't really trouble Yinka Abebowale in the Harrowby goal.
Gbolahan Okewoye had probably Lincoln's best chance but overrun it when through on goal while Jack McMenemy shot over when well placed.
Harrowby were still a threat going forward with Harry Allcock looking particularly sharp and he nearly got on the end of good play from Scott Floyd out on the right side.
Former Lincoln player Harvey Graves and Gurney were both having some joy in the midfield as a battle emerged with Harrowby a goal up at the break.
With an onslaught expected from Lincoln in the second half as they were desperate for the three points, Harrowby knew they would have to stand firm and withstand the long aerial balls that the Whites put on them.
It was a great rearguard action in the second half from all of the team.
Allcock had a chance for the Arrows' second goal but shot wide while a bad injury to the impressive Tom Harris after a clash of heads held the game up as he was taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket.
Issa Gaye was introduced along with Lord Marfo and David Kolapo as Harrowby looked to cling on to the one goal lead until the late drama unfolded.
A cross into the Harrowby box was headed down by McMenemy with Dye helping it on by turning it goalwards.
Abebowale looked to have made a great save on his line but, to the astonishment of the Arrows, the assistant referee ruled that it had crossed over to hand Lincoln a lifeline.
It ended the contest at 1-1 to leave the Arrows disappointed after a great effort from everyone to take one of the title favourites all the way.
They now face another tough game on Saturday as they travel to play-off chasing Heanor.
