Belvoir Cricket Club round-up
Belvoir began their season in Division A of the South Nottinghamshire League with a four-wicket away win at Hucknall 2nds.
Tom Lindsay led their bowling with 4-20 while Lewis Dann delivered 3-19 as Hucknall were bowled out for 132 after being put into bat.
The returning Jack Copley cracked 56 to head up the Belvoir reply before Lindsay completed a fine all-round performance by adding 33 to help secure the success.
Copley has returned to the club after playing in the Nottinghamshire Premier League with Collingham.
Skipper Lindsay said: "We're stoked to have Jack back where he belongs.
"He's an unbelievable addition to our side."
Belvoir have also signed Sam Foster from Division A rivals Keyworth.
The second team will have a new captain this term with Richard Brewer taking the helm after arriving from Belton Park who have withdrawn from the South Lincs and Border League.
He commented: "It's a real pleasure to be joining Belvoir as their new second team captain.
"I've played for Belton Park since the age of 11 and have been captain there for the last few years but, after the club sadly folded, I was delighted to accept the invitation to come and play at Belvoir.
"I'm really looking forward to playing alongside some new faces, as well as some familiar ones from my cricketing years gone by.
"I was always given opportunities to play adult cricket as a youngster and this is something that's very important to me.
"This is why, alongside the sheer breadth of ability on show at Belvoir, I'm particularly excited by the talent I've seen within our younger crop of players.
"My ethos is both simple and clear - we play to win but we do so in the right way and, most importantly, enjoy playing the game we all love."
The second team travel to Balderton for their Division G opener on Saturday while the firsts have a home match against Attenborough 2nds.
