The valley scenery included a reservoir built in the early 1900s and conditions were hot but thankfully there was a refreshing cooling breeze.

The course was a challenging out and back with two steep hills up to the 1km and 5km points.

Tommy recorded a chip time of 51:59 and even managed a negative split which was a huge bonus.

The winner was Garry Morrow of North Down in 33:55 while the first female was Aimee Mullan of Galbally Runners with a time of 41:26.
