Grantham Running Club compete in the Doncaster 10K




Eighteen runners from Grantham Running Club competed in the Doncaster 10K.

On an unseasonably warm day, the popular event started at Doncaster Racecourse and followed a loop in central Doncaster for 6K.

It took runners back to the racecourse before a 2K out and back again ahead of the final straight in front of the grandstand.

Gavin Potter, again outstanding in his field, finished with a remarkable personal best time of 35:31, not far ahead of Russel Whittaker at 35:41 with Peter Bonner next after also achieving sub 40 minutes in 39:28.

Holly Durham was the first lady for GRC in 42:02 ahead of Stefan Latter in 42:32, Alan Carley (43:50), Cameron Hoggan (44:21), Peter Jennings (45:18) and David Poole (45:59).

Hannah Whittaker (47:39) was closely followed by Catherine Payne in 47:47 while Jo Grace finished her first 10K race just outside her target of 50 mins by 23 seconds, overall enjoying the experience despite an off-par performance on the day.

Sarah High finished in 51:29 and was placed eighth in her category while Anthony Boyle came home in 51.55.

Julie Gilbert clocked 53:00 minutes while Robert Pask cantered across the line in 55:09 ahead of Addelle Pattison in 1:02:23 and Clare Mitchell in 1:05:01.
