Riley Church from the Touch Gloves Boxing Gym wins the Senior Elite 71kg Challenge crown

Taking a fight at short notice didn't stop Grantham boxer Riley Church from returning home with a vacant belt at the weekend.

The Touch Gloves Boxing Gym fighter only agreed to the bout last Wednesday night on an end of show at Swadlincote in Derbyshire.

But he defeated Kaylum Storey from Boston ABC to claim the Senior Elite 71kg Challenge crown.

It capped a memorable six months for Church who also became a dad in October.

He had taken time out of the ring due to his new arrival and had only recently returned to fighting last month.

Church went into the contest after victory in his last two fights and continued his winning streak.

He will be fighting again this weekend along with the rest of the Touch Gloves team in the Ed Bilbey Cup which is taking place over three days at the Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham.
