Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up
A personal best back nine score changed Roger Hales' steady scorecard into a winner.
After the round at Sudbrook Moor, Roger commented that he had never hit the ball so well as he did in the recent May Monthly Medal.
Roger reflected that it was less about turning up the heat as finding a rhythm which would set him apart from the other 55 players and put his name in the club archive of trophy winners.
It's sinking in that he has won one of the club's majors - the Ken Crowe Challenge.
He finished ahead of runner-up Steve Furphy who led home Jane Forbes, Paul Burrell, Geoff Back, Gerry Dunphy, Andy Newman and Danny Coyle.
Jane Forbes had the best ladies score from Amanda Roberts, Yvonne Geach, Zoe Martin and Dee Harrison.
Dan Reidy shot the best gross while the seconds sweep share-out went to Steve Martin, Barry Pogson and Andy Stones (third hole) and Paul Burrell, Pete Armstrong and Nathan Froggatt (seventh hole).
The Sudbrook Moor Scratch A team, who compete as part of the South Lincolnshire League led by team captain David Lee, continue in great form and lead the Division Three Order of Merit.
The 12-man team met Tydd St Giles at home on Saturday and added a further two points following a 4-2 victory.
Earlier, they had beaten South Kyme and Thorney Lakes and halved with Kirton Holme away.
