Grantham Cricket Club round-up
Nafis Shaikh struck an unbeaten century as Grantham maintained their strong start to the Lincolnshire Premier League campaign on Saturday.
Shaikh scored 106 not out as Grantham totalled 293-6 in their 121-run away win at Spalding.
He also shared in a 166-run stand with Qundeel Haider who hit 86 as Grantham hit an imposing total against a Spalding side still seeking their first win of the season.
The hosts were then bowled out for 172 in reply as Azimullah Ahmadzai took 4-32 while Atif Sheikh claimed 3-41.
The victory means Grantham are one of just two teams in the division to still have unbeaten records after the first five weeks of the season.
Reigning champions Lindum are the other side undefeated and they visit Gorse Lane on Saturday for an eagerly-anticipated showdown.
Grantham 2nds are also setting the early pace in the South Lincs and Border League Championship.
They maintained their unbeaten start with an eight-wicket home win over Billingborough on Saturday.
Harry Green grabbed 4-21 as Billingborough were bowled out for 135 with Jonathan Payne their top scorer after making 30.
Stewart Mudie led Grantham's successful run chase with an unbeaten 54 while Danny Ashley added 34 and Affan Mustafa made 30 not out.
The third team completed a hat-trick of Saturday successes with a three-wicket win over Billingborough 2nds.
Harry Field, Tito Thomas and Olly Rose all took two wickets each as Billingborough were bowled out for 128.
Opener Tayub Rehman then top-scored in the Grantham reply with 43 while Toby Cullen made 21 and Thomas totalled 27 in the away side's success.
