Sudbrook Moor take part in the Rita Hurst Salver for nine-hole golf clubs
Sudbrook Moor had two teams competing in the Rita Hurst Salver for nine-hole golf clubs.
The county-run championship is always met with huge enthusiasm and, now in its 24th year, two teams of four are invited from each club to make up the field.
The 'Sudbrook eight' had earned their place to participate on this day following their 2024 success in the club majors or due to county prowess.
They enjoyed a wonderful day out with superb hospitality and camaraderie hosted this year in rotation by Pottergate Golf Club in Lincoln.
The day's weather was a typical autumn challenge, with a stiff breeze, a heavy atmosphere, following very heavy rain overnight.
The championship was attended and prizes distributed by Lincolnshire president elect, Nick Musson, who was supported by Jim Lammin, county secretary, and Chris Lloyd, county treasurer.
Tony Hills, the county competition secretary, officiated at both the reception and results desk and ran a hugely successful event.
The results were tightly packed at the top of the leaderboard and Sutton Bridge regained the title and trophy from runners-up Kirton Holme B.
Sudbrook Moor's A team of David Lee, Craig Toyne, Ben Bulmer and Phil Kidd along with the B team of Nigel Corby, Andy Dunderdale, Barry Smith and John McLaren shared the same aggregate score and finished mid-field.
Phil Kidd and Andy Dunderdale returned the best Sudbrook Moor scorecards of 34 points.
