Marine AFC netted against Gainsborough Trinity for the first time in 1724 days at Rossett Park in Crosby, Merseyside winning 3-1 in the Northern Premier League, Premier Division




A side finally broke a goal-scoring drought against their adversaries as Marine AFC netted against Gainsborough Trinity for the first time in 1724 days.

The last time Gainsborough conceeded a goal against the side was on Saturday 23rd March 2019 .

Marine welcomed The Holy Blues to Rossett Park in Crosby, Merseyside where over 1,000 people turned up to watch them secure a 3-1 win in the Northern Premier League, Premier Division.

After going into the half-time break all square at 1-1, the home team would pull ahead in the second-half for the game to finish up by two as they performed strongly in the second-half.

Sol Soloman broke the long dry spell against Gainsborough when he netted in the 37th minute.

Gainsborough kept themselves in the contest thanks to a Lewis Butroid goal in the dying stages of the first-half to take them into the break on equal footing.

The second-half saw Soloman turn on the goal tap once again as he hit his brace in the 72nd minute before Connor Evans put the result beyond doubt when he netted in the 86th minute.
