Sudbrook Moor Golf Club round-up

Tony Bell stepped up a gear to win his first senior trophy from a field of 40 players at Sudbrook Moor.

There were two players in contention for the Rolfe Shield, with a nett 65, and Tony's stronger back nine score ensured his win on a count-back from Paul McCarthy.

One shot back was Ian Mason, followed by seasoned title winner Andy Dunderdale, Frank Brumpton and Neil Stokes.

There were the usual prizes for best front and back nine hole tallies with the former going to Neil Stokes and Graham Mackinder taking the latter on a countback.

Graham is enjoying a great summer of scoring and currently leads the senior six month eclectic, a fraction of a shot ahead of current title holder, Ian Batty, with a month of the season remaining.

A very happy home fixture for the Sudbrook Moor Seniors, led by Steve Squires, resulted in a 5-1 win when Boston's Kirton Holme visited.

Squires is celebrating the best Matchplay season that the seniors have played since becoming champion club in 2018.

This season will be concluded later in September with a Social Day get-together for all the friendly fixture clubs, hosted by Kirton Holme.
