Holbeach Parish Council hosts Christmas lights switch-on with real animals from Curo-Lincs farm at All Saints Church
Live animals including a donkey were just one of the highlights at a town’s festive event.
Holbeach Parish Council held a fayre and Christmas lights switch-on ceremony in the High Street with activities also happening at All Saints’ Church on Saturday.
A donkey, sheep and cow were added to the Nativity scene in the church yard, with the animals provided by Curo- Lincs farm.
A spokesman said: “We would like to thank everyone who gave up their free time and contributed to such a successful event and great to see Christmas Mickey and friend the Elf, as well as the live animals – the children and parents loved it.
“The craft fayre in the church was really well-attended with the Christmas tree display and various crafts.
“The high street market complimented the shops with 40 stalls trading various quality goods and music was provided by the Rock Bus with various singers and groups including the Gospel Choir, plus the Holbeach Town Band.
“All in all, an excellent turnout and the Council would like to thank the Volunteers, the High Street shops, stall holders, food vendors and most of all our public who turned out to support us.”
The fayre featured live music and an artisan market with food and drink for shoppers and visitors.
Collectors attended on behalf of charities including Chosen, Links Arc and Sue Ryder.
Many dressed up as elves and of course Santa was in attendance in his grotto.
There was also face painting, raffles and tombola plus activities for children.
