Holbeach resident on a mission to return lost blanket to owner
An elderly woman is on a mission to return a lost blanket to its owners – after members of the public rallied together to help her following a bad fall.
Milly Reed, 81 of Holbeach, is hoping to reunite the item with its owner as a thank you for the kind gesture during her hour of need.
After falling over in Spalding bus station four weeks ago, a group of people took it upon themselves to help Milly. One member of the public used a blanket from their car to keep her warm whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
Milly has since taken the tartan blanket to the dry cleaners. She said: “I got off the bus and walked across the road and didn’t get any further – my eyesight went black and I couldn’t see anything.
“It was reassuring there were people there to help me and I wanted to give the blanket back to the person who helped me.
“I’d like to say a big thank you and I took it to the dry cleaners to get it cleaned properly, as it is a very nice blanket.”
Milly is out of hospital and is recovering at home following the ordeal.
The blanket can be collected from the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian office at 4 Francis Street, Spalding.
