Spar sign plans approved for former Holbeach library

A former town library looks a step closer to becoming a convenience shop after planners have given the green light to the latest planning application.

Mr V Odedra had applied for new Spar signage to go on the former Holbeach library in Church Street, now known as Novo Cosmetics.

The application to put up Spar, ‘daily Deli’ and Costa Coffee signs have now been approved by South Holland District Council.

The planning officers’ report states that there were objections were raised about the signage by highways or the conservation officer.

It states: “The proposal hereby proposed does not materially harm the character or appearance of the locality, or amenity of nearby residents, and causes no unacceptable impact on the highway. In this instance, there are no material considerations that weigh significantly against the proposal.”
