Woodhall Spa fire crew saves terrier dog stuck in 6ft hole on farm
Firefighters helped a beloved pet out of a ruff spot after it disappeared in the early hours of Monday morning.
A crew from Woodhall Spa rescued a terrier after it became trapped in a six-foot hole on a farm on Old Woodhall Road, at 12.23am.
The dog, let out by owner Dave Benton, had wandered off and became stuck.
Dave had tried to free the dog himself but needed help.
The fire crew used thermal imaging cameras to locate the terrier and provided lighting to aid the rescue.
Despite the hard, cold ground, the team successfully freed the animal and reunited it with a relieved Dave
Ian Draper, watch manager at Woodhall Spa, said: “After the recent cold weather the ground was extremely hard which made digging the dog out a challenge, but we were delighted that this shaggy dog story had a happy ending!”
