Memory Lane: Grantham’s BMARC Band makes for a remarkable sight at Guildhall
Looking very smart in their uniforms outside the Guildhall are the BMARC Band, with conductor/band master Harry Sale and drum major Tom Adams in the centre.
The band had many names during its lifetime, but became known as the BMARC Band because the Grantham factory was where they were able to practice. It is now known as the Grantham Concert Band.
This great photo was published in Malcolm G. Knapp’s ‘Grantham’.
There are no details on the date, so get in touch if you know. If you have any old photos of Grantham and Granthamians which you think will be of interest to readers, you can drop them off or post to our office at St Peter’s House, St Peter’s Hill, Grantham, NG31 6QB.
