Stolen ducks,




We are once again taking a trip down memory lane to 1994 and 2009 in our nostalgia picture spread.

Generous farm owners stepped in to replace a family’s stolen ducks in 2009.

Natasha Goddard and children Chloe and Sam were shocked earlier in December when their Indian Runner Ducks Hewey, Dewey and Lewey were stolen from their home in Hawthorn Bank, Spalding.

Generous Heather Askew, of Bridge Farm, Donington, offered three of her five-week-old Aylesbury ducks as replacements. The cold weather prevented the family from picking up the ducks before Christmas. Jasmine Askew is pictured.

Spalding schoolchildren took to the stage to perform their annual Christmas play in 2009.

Nursery and reception classes at Spalding St Paul’s Primary School, along with children in Years 1 and 2, put on Whoops-a-Daisy Angel for parents and friends.
Around 90 children took part in the production.

Beauty students transformed a college into a fantasy winter wonderland during a 2009 magical Christmas show.

The hair and beauty department at the George Farmer Technology College in Holbeach performed a Christmas Fantasy Show to more than 100 friends and family.

A total of 13 Level 2 students took part in the annual show, styling their models under the Christmas fantasy theme while six level three students had to incorporate snow and ice.

The snow did not stop Moulton enjoying an outdoor nativity play and some traditional carols in 2009.

Charlie Footer and Dani Rackham took on the roles of Mary and Joseph as around 24 children played scenes around the village, starting at Moulton Harrox Park and moving on to The Swan pub and All Saints’ Church.

Wandering minstrel Rob Little delighted onlookers on the melodeon, while the Rev Rosamund Seal did readings.

Santa was busy with a whistle in 1994 when he refereed a football match in Holbeach.

As well as the seasonal referee, anyone caught offside in Carter’s Park was flagged down by a gren elf.

The match was organised by the managers of Holbeach United Football Club’s two under 12s teams as a bit of Christmas fun.

And it was decided the elf costumes would help raise awareness of the club’s social committee vice-chairman Kevin Kent’s fundraising bid for Boston’s Pilgrim Hospital.

mummers play George and the Dragon as part of their end of term celebrations.

A mummers play, a medieval portrayl of the struggle between good and evil, went down well and fitted in with the children’s history studies.
