Spalding Rugby Club stripped off and Deepings Priory Players add some Pzazz!
Naked calendars, theatre productions and Halloween feature in our lookback to 2009 and 1994.
Spalding Rugby Club swapped their usual strip for stripping off as part of a fundraising calendar in 2009.
The calendar featured 12 pictures of the rugby team and management with their naughty bits skillfully hidden through careful placement and computer wizardry.
Ben Williams came up with the idea to try to raise funds for a rugby tour following the success of a previous trip to the Isle of Wight.
But they also hoped to buy new equipment for the club, such as a scrummage machine.
While a sponsored school walk benefitted two good causes in Donington in 2009.
The village primary school's sponsored trot around their playing field in fancy dress raised £250 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
The Priory Players put on an evening of song, dance and sketches in The Deepings School during 1994.
Songs from the shows, monologues, sketches, duet and solos were all part of the Pzazz event.
It also included a variety of dance numbers, including ballet.
Pzazz was directed by Tess Blessett and musical director was Cynthia Osborne.
The event raised money for group funds but it was hoped to take some of the Players productions on the road.
Ghost stories a visit from a “witch” failed to frighten youngsters at Spalding Library’s Halloween event “Witches Brew” in 1994.
The 31 children made witches masks and hats, skeletons and pumpkin lanterns, and puppets given out.
A witch also told tales about her cat Blackie and showed off her broomstick.
