Students on the youth crime prevention panel at Gleed Girls’ School in Spalding questioned people about closed circuit television in the town centre 25 years ago.
More than 99 per cent of the 270 people questioned did not object, and most wanted to see more police officers on the beat.
The girls found that 29% had been the victim of a crime in the last three years.
Lack of street lighting in the town was a particular concern for many and 47% thought Spalding town centre had a crime problem.
