Bourne Elsea Park Primary Academy have fun and raise funds for Children In Need Day
Yet again, the children from Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy showed their Christian values of compassion and friendship as they threw themselves into fundraising for Children in Need.
With the theme of a Spotacular Moodbooster, the whole school looked incredible in their different Pudsey colours, spots and pyjamas to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Children in Need day came at the end of our fabulous Friendship week, where the children had taken part in learning about the importance of friendship and how to reach out to support friends, or to ask for help themselves.
During a special collective worship, pupils focused on being agents of change in the lives of children in their local area and beyond, and how we champion the rights of all children no matter what their protected characteristics may be.
This is so they all have access to UNICEF Article 29, ‘Every Child has the right to be the best they can be’.
During the day they had great fun buying mouth-watering cakes and biscuits, guessing how many Skittles were on a cake, and rolling coins onto a giant Pudsey Bear.
The grand finale came when the whole school came together in the hall for a fabulous Moodboosting session, streamed live by Children in Need, with the help of Joe Wicks and Pudsey Bear himself.
Everyone danced and moved with a giggle and a smile to give their physical and mental wellbeing a super boost!
After an exhausting but fun-filled day, we counted our pennies and proudly revealed a grand total of £436.69.
Head of School, Rachael Skidmore, said, “A huge well done and thank-you as always to all of the children, staff, parents and carers who baked cakes, dressed up and gave money to this worthy cause.
"We could not have done it without the care, love and support of our incredible Bourne Elsea Park family."
