Girl guide members dived into swimming gala 25 years ago

25 years ago multiple guides from across the South Holland District took part in a swimming gala.

The Castle Swimming Pool was the venue for the annual Spalding District Girl Guide event.

District Commissioner Claire Hemstock said: “ It was a very successful and enjoyable event”.

These big hearted youngsters helped out to raise money for the emergency service LIVES 25 years ago.

Eight members from the youth centre team at Spalding took part in the fundraising event and raised £203 for the charity.

Leader Amanda Halifax said: “ We were only at the supermarket packing peoples bags from 9:30am until 1pm and we couldn’t believe how much we raised in that short time.”
