Spalding, Holbeach, Whaplode and Sutton St James pupils feature in our nostalgia spread
We are once again turning back the clock to 2009 and 1994 in our regular nostalgia column.
A Tudor banquet day was the culmination of a term’s worth of work for children in Years 5 and 6 at Monkshouse Primary School, Spalding, in 2009.
During the event, youngsters performed a song and a dance before listening to music performed by Tudor minstrel Dante Ferrara.
They had previously learned about cooking Tudor-style at Burghley House.
Sutton St James Primary School youngsters put forward their pumpkins for consideration from Europe’s largest producer, David Bowman in 2009.
Mr Bowman chose two winners from each year group in the drawing contest and awarded prizes including pumpkins and colouring sets.
Youngsters are pictured with their prizes.
Children at Whaplode were preparing to step back to Victorian times.
Youngsters at The Nursery, in 1994, were preparing for a living Victorian exhibition.
Ahead of the exhibition, wood turner Jim Nicholls, pictured, showed youngsters the sort of craft activities which took place in Victorian times.
He made mushrooms for the school.
Pupils at George Farmer School in Holbeach raised £1,400 by taking part in a national Readathon in 1994.
The children were sponsored by families and friends to read a number of books during the week.
Some children joined English teacher Michelle Hudson to present a cheque to Readathon.
