Spalding pupils go to the polls and Crowland welcomes visitors from its twin town
Once again, we are delving into our archives to look back at 2009 and 1994.
Ten pupils took their place in the first democratic school council vote at Spalding Monkshouse Primary School in 2009.
Around 360 children put a tick in the box to chose their preferred candidates in each class.
The winning candidates were then announced in a school assembly. Their role was to show visitors around the school and work towards the eco flag award.
While Crowland officially signed its twinning charter with French town, Parigne L’Eveque in 1994.
Officials and guests from the French town crossed the Channel to participate in the second part of the twinning charter signing.
Crowland Parish Council chairman Geoff Garatt, Twinning Association chairman John Whiting welcomed more than 70 French visitors.
