It aims to ensure that everyone can enjoy a safe and crime-free summer in Lincolnshire.

The campaign includes tips from the Crime Prevention Team to help secure belongings.

Top tips include keeping valuables out of sight, securing gas bottles for caravan holidays, and using Faraday bags to protect electronic keys and bank cards.

Officers emphasised vigilance, noting that thieves can strike in seconds.

“Opportunistic thieves and burglars are waiting for you to forget to zip up a handbag, leave the front door unlocked if you're out in the garden, or become distracted at the cashpoint,” said a force statement.

Operation Magpie will increase patrols in busy areas like shopping centres and attractions.

Officers from various units, including dog and tactical teams, will respond swiftly to incidents and engage with recently released offenders.

The campaign also provides crime prevention advice to businesses and vulnerable residents.

Neighbourhood police officers will visit community groups and share tips; social media will feature updates all summer.

Residents should report suspicious activity to the police on 101 or dial 999 in emergencies.
