United Counties League Double Header to feature Newark and Sherwood United up against Lincoln United and Southwell City hosting Newark Town on Easter Monday in Nottinghamshire
With the much anticipated double header derby taking place tomorrow (Easter Monday, April 1), participating clubs are getting ready for their respective clashes.
Hosted by the United Counties League, the day will see matches contested in the Premier Division North (step five) and Division One (step six) competitions.
The last ground hopper event in the area attracted around 500 spectators, and similar numbers are expected this time around, making it an electric day for local football.
The double header is more than just a set of matches; it’s a community event that brings together fans, families, and football lovers.
With tickets priced at just £8 for adults and £6 for concessions, it’s an affordable day out for spectator.

The action kicks off at 12.30pm at Collingham FC, where Newark and Sherwood United will take on Lincoln United.
The Newark Highwaymen last played on Saturday where they secured a 1-1 draw against a tough Kimberley Miners Welfare side.
The game saw Romaine Graham’s men remain undefeated in March as they extended their unbeaten run to nine in a row.
Former Newark and Sherwood United player Kole Lambert came back to haunt his former team as he banged in the opener in just the first minute.
The former Norwich, Notts County, and Nottingham Forest Academy who scored for The Highwaymen on his debut gave his old side a wake up call.
Undeterred, Luke White came back and netted the equaliser just three minutes later.
Despite the explosive start, the tempo dissipated slightly and the score would remain at 1-1 until the final whistle.
Lincoln United also drew on their Saturday fixture, this time in the FA Vase semi-final first leg as they travelled down to Romford for a 2-2 result.
Matthew Cotton netted in the 11th minute for The Whites with Elliott Dye scoring in the 90th.
They will now host Romford at home in the second leg of the competition.
It has been a strong season for Lincoln United who were recently crowned Lincolnshire County Cup champions.
Their match tomorrow will see a battle of county cup champions after Newark and Sherwood United won the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup trophy last season.
Chris Funnell’s men now sit in second position and they will be hoping to replicate their victory from boxing day where The Whites defeated The Highwaymen at the Sun-hat Villas and Resorts stadium 2-1.
Times have changed for The Highwaymen since that match over three months ago and with a new manager at the helm and home ground advantage the 11th placed team will be hoping to cause an upset.
With the recent returns of Kieran Cummings and Ryan Ebanks plus the outstanding performances of recent wonder signing Jamie Williamson, the side is looking strong.
The second game of the double header will take place at Brinkley at 4pm.
Southwell City will host Newark Town in the Blue Stripe Derby.
The Zebras will be hoping to avenge a tight 3-2 loss in the last Blue Stripe Derby when they visited The Blues back in December.
Southwell lost 4-2 on Saturday to Dunkirk on the road after the hosts were leading at the break 2-1.
The Zebras let in two goals within the first six minutes and found the road back too hard a mountain to climb despite their best efforts.
Ryan Hlabangana and Cal Law were the players who scored for Jonny Upton’s side in the defeat.
Club officials have advised spectators to arrive early as they believe car parking could be an issue.
The last ground hopping event at Southwell attracted a crowd of 477.
The Zebras are currently sitting in 14th place out of 22 in the United Counties League Division One table.
Third place Newark Town are in play-off contention but also are coming off the back of a defeat after suffering a 1-0 loss against Selston on the road on Saturday.
Luke Parsons men were not at their best as they went down by a single goal.
Man of the match goalkeeper Theo Avery made some spectacular saves to keep his side in it.
The Blues will be hoping to bounce back with a strong win against Southwell City.
