McDonald’s gets permission to open at Lincolnshire Showground
The Lincolnshire Showground will be home to a new McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant by the end of this year, the fast food chain has confirmed.
McDonald’s was granted planning permission as part of a wider development plan off the Tillbridge Lane roundabout, including a drive-thru services hub and petrol station.
The application site was sold to a private developer by the Lincolnshire Showground, enabling this development to go ahead.
The Golden Arches vision then had to go through reserved matters applications, as well as earning signage advertisement consent from West Lindsey District Council.
With all these processes now complete, the countdown to the fast food giant’s arrival at Lincolnshire Showground now begins — and McDonald’s say it is closer than you think.
A spokesperson for the multinational chain confirmed it would be ready to open in the final quarter of 2024, creating job opportunities for the local area as well as a convenient food offering for those travelling along the A15.
It also serves as an opportunity for visitors to the Lincolnshire Showground to have a recognised food place during trips to the county’s largest events venue.
Works on the wider petrol station services site, approved in late 2022, will be completed at a later, unconfirmed date.
McDonald’s presence across Lincolnshire is already heavy, with dozens of restaurants scattered across all four corners of the county.
