Home From Home Care chairman Paul de Savary hits out at Autumn Budget plans to up National Insurance saying it could cost the organisation £435k
The chairman of the county’s largest care home provider has slammed government plans to up National Insurance saying it could cost them hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Paul de Savary who heads Home From Home Care has joined hundreds in calling for Chancellor Rachel Reeves to reconsider the National Insurance and National Living Wage increases announced last month.
Home From Home Care operates 11 residential facilities across greater Lincolnshire including locations in Fiskerton, Bardney, Ruskington, Stallingborough, and Dorrington supporting a total of 87 individuals with learning disabilities, autism and complex mental and physical health.
Mr de Savary has signed a letter to the chancellor pleading for a review of the plans saying it would deepen an already £8.4 billion funding shortfall in the sector.
“We’re totally committed to supporting these individuals to live their lives to the fullest and providing the very best service,” Paul said,
“However, the rising costs we’ll experience from these tax increases could seriously threaten our ability to continue doing so - we employ 550 staff and the extra National Insurance is projected to cost us £435,000.”
The appeal has more 350 signatures from across the country, a number which is only expected to rise.
