Police arrested Galiulin at Stansted Airport as he about to board a flight on October 9, 2023.

The court heard Galiulin, of Vernon Street, Lincoln, had previous convictions for stalking, arson and assaullt.

He admitted two charges of unlawful wounding and possessing a bladed article on September 26, 2023.

The court was told Galiulin had a number of mental health problems but medical experts had concluded they had not contributed to the offence.

Judge Hirst said: "You used a highly dangerous weapon, that is to say a knife.

"The circumstances are you were carrying a knife, you produced it in the street and used it on a man who had turned his back on you."
