A15 in Lincolnshire brought to a standstill by deer herd crossing road

A large herd of deer were caught on camera bringing a busy road to a standstill.

A video, posted by @ChrisGoGodfrey on X (formerly known as Twitter), shows the deer bringing traffic to a halt as they run across the A15 in Lincolnshire.

The video has now sparked debate over large populations of deer, with former government advisor Ben Goldsmith saying on X that wolves would be the “ideal solution” to tackle the “landscape - becoming overwhelmed by deer which are wrecking crops”.

Mr Goldsmith also shared the same opinion on the Today programme on BBC Radio 4.

On the radio programme, Minette Batters, former head of the National Farmers’ Union, has said that culling is the “only way forward”.
