New community diagnostics centre - which will serve 300 patients a day in Lincoln - to open by autumn
A new community diagnostics centre is set to open by autumn this year.
The site will be located at Lincoln’s Science & Innovation Park, off Tritton Road, and run by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
It forms part of a £38 million investment in Lincolnshire health services.
Development is underway and it is expected to open later this year, alongside another community diagnostics centre in Skegness.
They follow another site in Grantham, which became the first CDC in Lincolnshire when it opened in April 2022.
Lincoln’s site will serve around 300 patients per day, and offer core clinical areas of treatment with a consultation department, diagnostics capabilities with MRI and CT scans, as well as a chemotherapy department.
Following recent approval from City of Lincoln Council to remove a remediation strategy condition on the previously approved application for the CDC, work on the development can progress to the next stage.
In the meantime, there are temporary mobile MRI and CT scanners in place for patients while the building work on the permanent site is completed.
