Lane 7 bowling bar could open in Lincoln High Street

A popular bowling bar business could open a new site at a disused building on Lincoln High Street, following a planning application to the city council.

Lane 7 is an emerging business with venues across the country, offering food and drink, as well as entertainment in the form of bowling alleys, table tennis, darts and other arcade games.

It now seeks approval to open a site in Lincoln, with the vacant 311-312 Lincoln High Street unit, between Crew Clothing Company and Starbucks, firmly in its sights.

It is a building that has laid dormant since 2019, when Boots moved out to a new premises, also on Lincoln High Street.

Since then, the site has been the location of an eye-catching Lincoln Imps mural, which has provided colour on the High Street for almost half a decade.

Plans spread across three storeys of the building, offering quirky games such as shuffleboard and vintage arcade machines.

A decision will be made on whether or not construction can begin on this site in the coming weeks, with the fate of Lane 7’s Lincoln prospects now in the hands of City of Lincoln Council’s planning committee.
