Science by Luxmuralis is set to transform Lincoln Cathedral for their second creative light show, which is expected to prove even more popular

Visitors can delve into the world of science and art as a spectacular show returns to one of the county’s most historic landmarks.

Science by Luxmuralis is running at Lincoln Cathedral throughout the week until Saturday, March 16. It marks a return for the immersive experience, following a string of sell-out shows.

Organisers of the creative light show hope to transform the historic site into a ‘fully immersive artwork canvas’ by projecting imagery onto the walls.

The installation will explore chemistry and biology and celebrate famous scientists from past and present.

After welcoming more than 10,000 over four days to its previous event, Luxmuralis is back by popular demand.

Samantha Mellows, director of visitor experience and enterprise at Lincoln Cathedral, said she said: “We’re used to seeing the architectural beauty of the cathedral, and as it is transformed before our eyes, it gives us an opportunity to stop, reflect and take some time to look at the world from a different perspective.

“The last time we hosted a light show in the cathedral, the atmosphere was amazing. It was fantastic to see so many people of all ages, backgrounds and interests coming together to experience a shared moment of awe and wonder, and we can’t wait to do that again as we explore the impact of science on all of our lives.

There will be several performances taking place every night. The time slots available include 7pm, 7.15pm, 7.30pm, 7.45pm, 8pm, 8.15pm, 8.30pm, 8.45pm, 9pm, 9.15pm and 9,30pm.

Tickets for the event cost £8.66 and can be purchased here.
