New images of Lincolnshire’s Red Arrows appearing over Formula 1 Grand Prix in Silverstone
Jaw-dropping images show the Red Arrows performing manoeuvres over the UK.
The RAF flight display team appeared at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Silverstone on Sunday, and were also seen performing a Diamond Nine Spag (short for spaghetti) Break on arrival to RAF Waddington following the weekend of displays.
The team, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary, provided the Silverstone crowds with a high-paced dynamic display, followed by a flypast ahead of the racing.
Officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows consists of pilots and more than 100 highly-trained support personnel.
Each of the pilots has previous fast-jet, operational experience flying the Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier, enabling the RAF to secure the skies and protect the nation and its interests, 365-days a year. The team is based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
