A team is encouraging fans to head to their ground this weekend and cheer them on in the FA Vase competition.
Lincoln United will welcome Congleton Town, a team from Cheshire to their Sun-Hat Villas and Resorts stadium for the third-round clash on Saturday (tomorrow December 9, kick-off 3pm).
The Whites will be looking to progress further in the competition and believe that they have what it takes to do it.
"The competition is the heart of non-league football," said Charlie Fytche, the club's director of communication.
"The FA Vase trophy beckons, and for Lincoln United, it's more than just a tournament.
"It's a chance to etch our name in history as the best step five or six club in the nation.
"Some people may call it the non-league equivalent of the revered FA Cup, but for us, it's a symbol of aspiration.
"It is the opportunity to raise the trophy beneath Wembley's iconic arches that drives us.
"Our leader in this journey is none other than Manager Chris Funnell.
"This season marks a departure from the norm.
"We're not content being just another entry in competitions.
"The mission is clear – challenge ourselves, play exceptional football, and secure victories that echo beyond the pitch.
"This Saturday, the spotlight is on our clash with Congleton Town, a fixture dubbed the tie of the round.
"Despite recently descending from step four, we won't be discounted. "Congleton Town, having showcased their winning prowess and reaching the semi-finals last season, presents a formidable challenge.
"They're hungry to surpass their past achievements, but so are we.
"Football's beauty lies in its unpredictability, especially at our level.
"As we gear up for this encounter, we embrace the uncertainty, committing to be the best version of Lincoln United on the field.
"Our players share a common goal – reaching the pinnacle of excellence and creating a story that resonates with every supporter.
"In the grand tapestry of football, where twists and turns define the narrative, this weekend's showdown promises to be a captivating chapter. "Lincoln United's FA Vase journey isn't just a pursuit of glory — it's a relentless commitment to the essence of the sport we hold dear.
"The stakes are high, the excitement palpable, and as we step onto the pitch, our quest for FA Vase glory becomes the focal point of an unfolding story.
"United, we stand, and together, we aim to make history.
"So if you’re free Saturday or are looking to watch a fixture nearby, why not head to the Sun-Hat Villas and Resorts stadium and get behind The Whites?"
