Coronavirus: number of cases in Lincolnshire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire




The number of cases of coronavirus known about by Public Health England has risen by 30 cases in Lincolnshire this week.

UPDATE: cases on Sunday March 29

The local authority area saw its figure of diagnosed cases increase from nine to 39 since last weekend.

Meanwhile, the first 'official' case of coronavirus in Rutland was announced by Public Health England yesterday Friday (March 27), the same day as Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced he had developed coronavirus symptoms.

Leicestershire saw the largest rise in cases in the past week - up by 99 since last weekend.

Sadly, a coronavirus patient in Lincolnshire died yesterday.

The current figures (and the rise since last weekend) are:

  • Leicestershire 128 (+99)
  • Northamptonshire 86 (+66)
  • Cambridgeshire 68 (+51)
  • Lincolnshire 39 (+30)
  • Peterborough 11 (+9)
  • Rutland 1 (+1)

The total number of UK cases recorded by Public Health England is 14,543 with 759 deaths to date. Many cases are not included in the figures because some people suffer only mild symptoms.
