This year’s fair on Saturday, July 5, between 10am and 4pm will include a mix of living history and re-enactments from several periods, talks by local experts and displays by heritage groups and societies from across Rutland and Leicestershire.

One of the highlights of the fair will be more on the discovery of the location of the 6th Century King Rota’s fortress - Rotaburh - on Hambleton peninsula. A new map of the Germanic Angles kingdom of Rotaland and illustration of the fortress will be on display.

The history fair will also be the opening event for the 2025 Leicestershire and Rutland Festival of Archaeology.
