Bills Bar in Oakham to close for refurbishment

A late-night bar will undergo a refurbishment in a bid to transform a town’s nightlife.

Bills Bar in Oakham will close in mid-February and reopen the following month as a sports-themed entertainment venue.

Plans include the introduction of interactive darts, more pool tables, shuffleboards, air hockey and arcade machines.

Owner Jonathan Spencer said: “After 10 incredible years as Oakham’s go-to late bar, Bills Bar is ready for a new chapter. The world is changing and so are we.

“After a chance meeting we will be bringing on board the brains behind Boom Battle Bar to make sure this really is something to be proud of for the town.”

Bills Bar, located in Melton Road, will close on Sunday, February 16 following a traffic light party and official closing party that weekend. It is expected to reopen in March.
